SOLD!!! 3 Wolf Books and a Jaguar Book!!!

I didn't make my word count last night. Didn't make any bears. What was I doing all day??? Do you ever have days like that? You were really busy, but you have NOTHING to show for it?

Okay, well I did work on about 15 student lessons, 3 of the 17 students finished. And I did get half my word count. And I talked to my daughter about her work and what I was doing. And that was a 2 hour conversation. We hadn't had time to talk in a while. So here's part of the conversation:

"I quit writing to work on bears."

"No, you couldn't quit writing."

"No, I got my word count in for the day so I could work on bears. I'm not quitting writing. I love writing. And I love making bears."

Anyway, so I had to run into town to ship bears yesterday. And I don't know. The day just...vanished.

About the new books sold:

I pitched 3 and somehow ended up selling 4!

It's kind of like wolf and jaguar cubs. They come in multiples. I had a reviewer snark about how I had so many twins and triplets in books. What was the deal with that?

I write my stories as realistically based on the real animals as I can. Sometimes I only show one wolf, no siblings. But usually, I have multiples. Not because I'm thinking that I'll have tons more books to write, because especially early on, I really wasn't thinking of how I would be writing these series so long. Why not, you ask?

Sales. We never know when sales will allow us to keep writing. Or if a series just doesn't take off. I really work hard at making my stories as new as possible so that each story is really different from all the rest. I'm still finishing up A Silver Wolf Christmas, which is book 17 in the wolf series. I sold another Silver pack book--Eric Silver, the eldest of the quadruplet brothers, who butts head with Darien, his cousin and the pack leader. He's a park ranger, runs into trouble with another wolf pack, and meets the she-wolf running it. I had started this story a long time ago, but lost it in a computer crash, so I'll be headed in that direction again.

I don't know the order the books will come out, but I sold another SEAL book because they do really well, and this one is A SEAL Wolf Diving for Trouble. It's Allan's story and he's on the police diving team when a human female he's interested in discovers a nearly dead wolf and wants to put it out of its misery, but the wolf is one of Allan's pack.

Then, I had to write another jaguar story, and this one is like the end of the season premier. I can't talk about what's going to happen in that one just yet. It has to do with a cub and that's all I can say. But you know me, before long, the cat will be out of the bag.
And that was what I pitched and sold!

Then my editor was telling me that she just totally loves the cub story and babies and billionaires sell well. Wait, I needed to write a billionaire wolf story!

So there you have it. The unpitched Billionaire Wolf story. Not sure on title or what it's going to be about, but I'm excited about writing it.

I had two billionaire stories I wrote--Exchanging Grooms, and Marriage, Las Vegas Style, more comedy romance, no paranormal. And I had fun with them.

And I HATED my cover for my Collection of Vampire novellas, so yes, all right, it's like an indulgence of chocolate and I didn't want to tell you exactly what I was doing yesterday INSTEAD of writing and making bears...I was playing around with redoing the cover! Hero of a Highland Wolf is OUT!

I loved all the glass buildings in Charlotte while I was at Authors After Dark, which is why I missed my posting last week. I couldn't post on blogger or Wordpress. I kept thinking what an industry the window cleaning business would have there. Now, if they had men in kilts, that they actually have in Scotland, who window wash, even better!

Speaking of Scots, or in my case, medieval Highlanders, my Taming the Wild Highlander won the Bookie Award for Best Historical Novel of the Year at Authors After Dark!!!

With my very first book, Heart of the Wolf, I loved that two reviews mentioned my humor.  Humor is always so subjective, and so I never know if readers will see what I write as humorous or not.  Got home from the airport from my trip to AAD and they were missing my bag and several others. Argh.  And the AC wasn’t working. Can you think of anyone who would be involved in such mischief? The fae. I know, I know, no one believes that they have that much power, but….
It was 96 degrees and HOT outside, and 87 inside! It was cool in Charlotte and I miss that! Today it will be 104. Ugh.

I shipped off Buchanan Clan Bear, Armstrong Clan Bear, Poodle Skirt Bear, MacBear, and US Navy Bear! It looks like Christmas in my car with all the packages!!!

 

And I finished another bear, but I have to make another bear to complete the order.

I only have two more of these bears. It’s a mohair.

 And I have a big blue bear nearly done. Have to make the baby bear also next.

And now I’m off to get a million things done, priority, proof an audiobook this morning and approve it. Have another after that. And I have 14 more bears to make.

And a book to write! Another to finish up.

Etc, etc, etc. It’s going to be a GREAT day!!!  Mainly because my plants didn’t die while I was gone and my AC is now working!!!

Buchanan Clan Bear Sold! Another 5 Star Review for Hero of a Highland Wolf!

Here is Buchanan Clan Bear and he’ll be off to his new home soon. He’s wearing the ancient plaid of the Buchanan. Working on Armstrong Clan Bear today and a Navy bear. I still have a stack of orders to get done. I’ve ordered tartan fabric for two more bears, blue fabric for 2 more, and another wants purple. :) Plus more.   Wilde & Woolly Bears
I only got 1,000 done on Call of the Cougar yesterday, but finished two Buchanan Clan bears, and am halfway done on an Armstrong Clan bear. I hope to get 2,000 done on Cougar today. I had an idea of the near end scene, but still 17,000 or so words to get there. I might just write the scene and then go back in and write the rest of the story to get there. Sometimes I have to do that because a scene will come to me that isn’t in the perfect linear order. I actually was sewing up bonnets for the three clan bears when it came to me. I had to stop what I was doing, and write them down. Or I’d forget it!

Well done, once again Terry Spear you have given us a book that kept me engrossed from the start to the finish, so much so that I read this book in one day. This is about an American woman that inherits a castle in Scotland from her family and a pack of Highland wolf shifters that live there.

Two crepe myrtle volunteers in between the big ones. Everything is looking so colorful!

A view of the crepe myrtles, storm clouds, that didn’t rain, but at least made it cooler, and the cornfields, ready to be harvested. It sounded like the wind blowing through a forest the other day, or ocean waves, the way the wind blew through the dry cornstalks.

Off to get ready for the writing and bear-making day!
