I think the theme - that you MUST have this or that to be successful is a sad one. But I have a dd who is a clothes, shoes and purse aficionado and it's a genetic trait. So I have more sympathy than I would otherwise have for these women. I am a book fiend, like you.Carly Carsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18236823971323039071noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14738657.post-26228256499964684572010-06-18T01:49:46.966-04:002010-06-18T01:49:46.966-04:00Great post! I wouldn't know how to shop for style and would probably ened up looking like a hooker if I tried to dress like them.LOL

Sex and the City was a TV show not REALITY TV so their should have been no reason for the mix-up. Obviously reality television is its own problems, but...

congrats on check :DLeonahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11786326364037397675noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14738657.post-80567263859100320832010-06-17T23:38:11.412-04:002010-06-17T23:38:11.412-04:00I guess I take the personal responsibility stance....I guess I take the personal responsibility stance. SATC was a show strictly for enetertainment, and if someone was dumb enough to think they could keep up the same lifestyle, well... Granted, I have my own addiction to books and a serious predilection for purses and shoes. But I know my limits, and I certainly won't go thousands of dollars into debt for stuff I can't really afford. At some point, your common sense has to step in. It sounds like those women were determined to avoid the voice of reason.Jenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07382826121131415775noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14738657.post-90558023676558780222010-06-17T18:19:27.818-04:002010-06-17T18:19:27.818-04:00Heavy sigh...I know, Danica. I think there's a lot out in society that can inspire writers to make wonderful characters that readers can immediately connect with.

BTW, I'm not a shoe, clothes, or purse horse. I'm a book addict. I open a box of books and people say, "Books?" My answer is always, "No, it's my drug."Danica Avethttp://danicaavet.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.com
