The Beauty of Water

Today I'm sharing some photos of our pond along with some inspiring quotations about water. Having a pond is a wonderful and rewarding experience. Sure, it's a lot of work at times, but the payoff is worth it. It's so peaceful and relaxing listening to the splashing water. Every day is different and the pond is a whole world in itself. We enjoy watching life unfold there and all the creatures that call it home. In the spring, the toads sing and sometimes leopard frogs visit to leave their next generation. Pink, white and yellow water lilies bloom daily. And discovering a new baby fish is fun.

"To understand water is to understand the cosmos, the marvels of nature, and life itself." Masaru Emoto

"Water is the driver of Nature." Leonardo da Vinci

“When was the last time you spent a quiet moment just doing nothing - just sitting and looking at the sea, or watching the wind blowing the tree limbs, or waves rippling on a pond, a flickering candle or children playing in the park?”  Ralph Marston

"All the water that will ever be is, right now." National Geographic

"And all the air is filled with pleasant noise of waters." Henry Wordsworth

"I have left almost to the last the magic of water, an element which owing to its changefulness of form and mood and colour and to the vast range of its effects is ever the principal source of landscape beauty, and has like music a mysterious influence over the mind." Sir George Sitwell

"If there is magic on this planet, it is contained in water." Loran Eisely

"And gentle winds and waters near, make music to the lonely ear." Byron

"Water is the best of all things." Pindar

I hope you enjoyed this little visit to my pond!
Thanks!

Just so beautiful. Thank you for sharing.I too have a pond, water lilies and gold fish but sadly no frogs.
It has been so long since I've seen or heard a frog and that is so sad.

Sophia, thanks so much! It is very relaxing.

Thanks, Shirley! It's nice to meet another ponder. :) I wish we could share some of our frogs. We have too many. LOL In spring or when it rains, there are usually a dozen or so toads that show up too. And their babies, which I call toadies, are everywhere too. They are teeny-tiny toads no larger than your little fingernail. Really cute!

How beautiful your pond is. I can only keep water lettuce or water hyacinth in my pond. My big boys chew the roots and leaves. We do have loads of frogs and I had a crane last year. Anyone interested I posted a picture of my "tigersharks" in my pond on my Pinterest page. Most of those pics are my garden. I hope you don't mind, Vonda. And frogs abound in the spring as well.
Great post.

Beautiful photos, Vonda! I can almost imagine myself sitting next to it. The frogs remind me of the Coqui in Puerto Rico. I tried so hard to find the little buggers when I was there last month, but never could. But boy did I hear them! LOL.

Thanks so much, Eliza! I'm glad you like it!

Cora, thanks! I love growing water lettuce and hyacinth also but I don't have any this year. Sounds like you have koi. :) I don't have any of those, just comets. I hope a crane doesn't come. Yikes. They would eat the fish. I'll check out your Pinterest page.

Ella, thanks! Yes, it is a lot of work, especially in spring. The plants in it grow like crazy and the fish sort of take care of themselves, but we do feed them while it's warm.

Tamara, thanks! I haven't heard of Coqui. I'll have to look that up. I bet you had a great time in Puerto Rico! We have little peeper frogs here. They only get as big as my thumb.

I really need to sit and watch your pond with you. :) Gorgeous, Vonda. I love the frogs. When I was a Camp Fire Girl leader my Indian name was To To Pakwa - the green frog. Just think of that the next time you see one moving around in your fantastic piece of heaven.

Beautiful pictures! Very calming.

Yes, you do, Paisley! Thanks! How cool that your Indian name was green frog. Do you like to swim? :) I'll name the next frog I see Paisley.

Thanks, Carole! I'm glad you thought so.

Paisley the Frog sounds just perfect. I used to love to swim. How about Paisley Pakwa? And, I need a photo of my namesake for my desk. ;)

Your flowers are amazingly beautiful, Vonda. The frog is cute, too. :-) Enjoy your pond!

Paisley Pakwa sounds like a great name for a frog. LOL I'll send you a pic. :)

Vanessa, thanks! I love waterlilies so much. They only bloom out when the sun is shining so they can be a nice surprise sometimes.
