It’s Officially Summer in the Bishop Household

Can I just say how much I am looking forward to summer this year? No homework, no schedules, no early bedtimes, no early rising. Just go with the flow. Oh yes, I’m looking forward to the next ten weeks.

I think the only major drawback will be the noise level in the house. I’ve gotten used to working in silence, with maybe some music. But excited kids playing video games or chasing each other around the house squealing at the top of their lungs? Yeah, no. Noise level increase normally doesn’t happen around here until around three everyday. So that will take some getting used to.

Today, I plan to take the kids to the park for a bit, AND it won’t be miserable. I don’t know what it’s been like where you live, but we’ve been kissing the 100 degree mark since early May, even for the south that is unheard of. Today it’s in the 80’s, with no humidity. Hallelujah! But before I can get us out of this house, I have to finish copy-edits that need to be turned in today. Kids are patiently playing Lego Star Wars on the Playstation (can I just say how much I hate this game—it’s not the games fault. It’s a really great game that the kids have played for SIX. STRAIGHT. WEEKS.) Can we play some Mario Brothers please? I’m so tired of being Chewbacca. I’m also tired of hearing of the creatures make a maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa every time they hit it with a light saber. I swear the thing is on every level.

So anyone have anything exciting planned this summer?
