Favorite Lines

This will be short and sweet this week. I’m making huge headway with second draft revisions and don’t want to lose momentum. All it takes is one distraction and my concentration is shot. I really, really need to work on that. LOL.

So here is what I would like to do today. I want everyone to share something from one of their favorite romances. It can be your favorite line, paragraph, a random sentence, what it is you love about a certain character, etc.

Unfortunately, I’ve loaned out my favorite book, so I’m going to go with my second favorite. And it is by the same author. LOL. I just happen to like Grimm’s story a bit more than Drustan’s. It might have something to do with that whole Beserker thing. I find it insanely sexy. Dang, I need to get that book back.

Anyway, I’m a huge Karen Marie Moning fan. I haven’t read a book yet from her that has let me down. Even when she went into first person and started her Fever series, ohhh, Barrons, know that is a man who will give Grimm a run for his money in my favorite hero list. Gosh, now where is that book?

Found it! So much for short and sweet. This blog is taking much more time than anticipated. But I couldn’t find it and started to panic. I knew I had it. I found it where it’s not supposed to be. In the living room.

So with the addition of Darkfever, I’m going to share two.

First will be from DARKFEVER. This is a scene between Mac and Barrons:

“Bloody Hell!” he exploded. “Un-cuss-believable! You, Ms. Lane, are a menace to others! A walking, talking catastrophe in pink!” If gazes could scorch, his would have incinerated me where I stood. “Didn’t you hear a thing I told you last night? Weren’t you even listening?”

“I heard every word you said,” I said stiffly. “And for the record, I don’t always wear pink. I often wear peach or lavender.”
---DARKFEVER, Karen Marie Moning

And this one is from KISS OF THE HIGHLANDER: Scene is between Drustan and Gwen.

“If you did not come seeking my personal attentions, why are you so shamelessly attired? He said flatly.

Perhaps because it’s hot out?” she shot back, tugging defensively at the hem of her khakis. Her shorts weren’t that short. “It’s not like you have much on yourself.”

“’Tis natural for a man. ‘Tis not natural for a woman to cut off her chemise at the waist and doff her gown. Any man would make the assumption I did. You are wantonly clad, and you were draped most intimately across my loins. When a man first awakens, it sometimes takes several moments before he starts thinking clearly.”

“And here I thought it tool several years, perhaps a lifetime for the average man’s intellect to kick in.” --Kiss of the Highlander, Karen Marie Moning

So there are my two. Now I have the urge to read instead of write. Didn't see that one coming, lol:)

What are some of your favorite things about your favorite books?

LOL! I'm a big Moning fan, and I LOVE Grimm best too! Sigh. There is something about him. But I do love all her heroes as well as her humorous voice. Sorry, can't think of a favorite line right now, but I'm sure there are several. :)

I love this! I just can't remember any of my favorite lines right now except one from the movie Casablanca when Humphrey Bogart is in a conversation with a German man who has been investigating him for the Nazis. The man, whose title I can't remember, slides his notebook over to Bogart's character Rick, who takes a look at it, looks him right in the eye and says, "Are my eyes really brown?" Love it!

My favorite Moning book is The Dark Highlander and I love this line.
I am Dageus MacKeltar, a man with one good conscience and thirteen bad ones, driven to sate my darkest desires I've read this book more than once but its been awhile.

Nicole-I really think it is that Berserker thing and how much Grimm loved Jillian. I mean he loved her, but refused to give in. I loved that. I really, really need to get my book back. LOL.

Cameo-LOL, awesome line! Its been years since I watched Casablanca, I think I need to dig that one out.

Sherry-Ohhhh! Dageus. He's third on my list. Loved how dark that one was.
