Why Men Wear Earrings

A businessman meets with his lawyer and stares at the gold earring in his ear, surprised to see the ultra-conservative man wearing it.

"I'm kind of surprised to see you wearing an earring," the businessman said, really taken aback and unable to focus on their business lunch.

"Not a big deal."

The businessman ordered his meal, glanced at the gold hoop dangling from the lawyer's ear and shook his head. It had been a couple of months since he had seen him, but everything else was the same, charcoal gray suit, black tie, perfectly conservative haircut. "I"m just surprised, uhm, so when did you start wearing one?"

The lawyer glanced up at him, his face grim. "Since my wife discovered it in the front seat of my car."

But before that, pirates wore them, didn't they?
